Merge and organize PDFs locally without losing track of pages

Control the exact page sequence, retain originals and inspect the final document.

Choose the intended output first

Use Merge PDF for several source documents. Use Extract & split PDF for one source when you need selected pages in one file or one PDF per page. Organize PDF controls output order and rotation; Number PDF adds counters after the page order is settled. These operations do not reduce a document to images, but advanced document features may not survive reconstruction.

Read ranges as a sequence

The selection 3,1,5-7 means source page 3, then 1, then 5, 6 and 7. A descending range such as 4-2 means 4, 3, 2. Repeating a page includes another copy. Odd and even refer to source page numbers, not labels printed on the page. Each file in the merge queue has its own range; moving files also moves the corresponding range.

Use the page map carefully

The page map shows source numbers, crop-box dimensions in PDF points and the selected sequence. It is a navigation aid rather than a rendering of page content. In the output-order list, arrows move a page and the rotate button adds 90 degrees to that source page. The whole-output rotation setting is added to each selected page’s existing rotation. Open the actual download in a PDF viewer to check text and orientation.

Set annotations deliberately

By default, copied pages omit annotations, including links and form widgets. Enable retention only when you need those objects and understand that interactive forms may still break. Copying pages can omit bookmarks, attachments and other catalog-level features. Rebuilding also changes the signed bytes of a signed PDF; retain the original whenever signature validity matters. The tools are not a security sanitizer.

Keep the workload bounded

Each source is limited to 20 MB and 200 pages. Merge queues allow eight files, 80 MB combined and 400 source pages; combined exports allow 400 pages. Separate-page export is capped at 100 files per run, with an 80 MB total output limit. Parsing and export run in a cancellable worker with a deadline, but available memory can impose lower limits. Encrypted/password-protected files are rejected.

Review a representative result

Check the first page, last page, a rotated page and any page with comments or form content. Confirm the actual number of pages before sending the file. The local tests verify page counts, dimensions, order, rotation and counter text on generated fixtures; that is not a guarantee for every PDF producer or document feature.
